Ask God for what you’ve never thought to ask of Him before.
This is not an invitation for greed. It is an opportunity for you to see how willing God is to help you when you determine to do what He wants you to do.
God serves up God-sized dreams: Big things that you cannot do on your own.
Have you ever had a goal in mind, but didn’t know how to get there? Or maybe you know how to get there, but you lack some of the skills or discipline needed to truly find success. Ask God.
The Bible teaches in James 1: 5“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” Wisdom is not just the choice of which path to take in life. Sometimes it’s as simple as, how do you do this?
There is, and always will be, something standing between you and what you want, even if it is a God-given desire. But if God gives you a desire, He wants you to have it. Sometimes, you just have to ask Him how to get it.
You should ask all sorts of things: what is my first step? How do I learn the skills I need, even if I can’t afford to pay for it? Who is really good at this that I can learn from? Lord, can you help me with the discipline I need to be successful? What’s the best routine? You can even ask what success is.
God is concerned about everything that concerns us, and He is willing to help a heart that wants to be obedient.
All we have to do is ask.
