God may have worked a miracle in your finances and His retirement plan is out of this world -- literally! But to call him the Great Financial planner in the sky simply cannot do Him justice. It’s what He does, but it’s not who He is. Likewise, He is a healer, and He may have repaired your body supernaturally, allowing you longer life and health. But He's not just a doctor. We, like God, have things we do. Men tend to define themselves by their positions (I am a journalist) while we women tend to define ourselves by our relationships (I am a mother), and yet neither of these accurately describes who we are as both a working and relational being, and more. Yet God, in His love for us, loves us in our vocational skills, in our relation to others, in our passions, and our potential. He loves us completely. The whole us, not just parts and pieces. We should take a page from His book. To honor God for Who He has revealed himself to be in your life, and by faith to esteem Him even greater for whole the truth of who He is, is the heart of worship. But it also eliminates fear in our lives, because fear and faith cannot coexist. And it allows us to embrace the truth of what God says about Himself completely. At that point, where lies become such obvious frauds they are dismissed swiftly. |
