If a Pastor Falls

Letter to the Editor:
The allegations against Bishop Eddie Long move me to seek the Lord for more mercy and grace upon my own soul. They also provide an opportunity for all believers to consider what we should expect of the pastor’s morality...

Why Black Christian Church Must Disband

Letter to the Editor:

Overwhelming troubles  facing  racial group  is  evidence  of  broken  covenant
with the  God  of  Abraham,  Isaac  and Jacob.

In  The  April  2010  issue  of  The  Vine newspaper,  Marquez  D. Ball  wrote  on [the] controversy [sic]  surrounding  gays  and holy  laws  governing  the  church.

("Same-sex  Marriage  and  Church Constitutions".)
[The] article  brought up  fact  that  government  of  the District  of  Columbia  issued   marriage licenses  to  same-sex  couples  March 9th  " despite  the  efforts  of  groups such  as  Stand4Marriage  as  well as many  others  to  vote  on  the  matter".

News  account  further  disclosed the  Supreme  Court  denied  church leaders  the  right  to  bring  the  issue to  a  vote,  and  most  importantly religious  clergy  have  cited  that " the  Bible  is  the  final  authority  on all  church  matters".  The  author's news  account  is  a  critical  analysis  in   support  of  the  Christian  Church.

However, [the]  reason  why  faith  groups   were  not  successful  in  keeping  same-sex  marriage  out  of  the  community  is because  the  Black  Christian  Church is  in  controversey [sic] with  that  sacred authority---due  to  serving  another  God:  "Jesus  Christ".

Many  troubles  Blacks  face  in  the  United  States  and  Africa  are  result  of  ignoring sacred laws,  which  is  why  Black  churches  must  disband  by  becoming  Jewish  synogogues. [sic]

Christianity was  taken from  the  Jewish  faith.  Five  books  of  Moses---found  from  very  beginning of  the  Old  Testament---forbid  [the] practice of  “having",  "serving",  or  "bowing  down" to  " other  Gods".  Having  been  raised  in  the   Christian [faith],  as  a  soon-to-be  45  year old  Black  man  myself,  it  has  dawned  on  me  that  I am actually  Jewish  and  not  Christian.   My two first names are Hebew.

When  Blacks  in  the  world  want  respect  they  are  going  to have to  get  right  with  the  God of  Abraham, Isaac  and  Jacob.
