Letter to the Editor:
I could hardly believe my eyes, as I read your e-mail about "Bro" Elijah Gatewood's article on "WHY [the] BLACK CHRISTIAN CHURCH MUST DISBAND." Is he for real? If he is, he must be a "babe in Christ" [Heb 5:5-6:1,2]. If Bro. Gatewood would follow the advice of Hebrews 6:1-2, he just might discover a few things, such as:
•Judaism is within the realm of Christianity, and not vise-versa. He doesn't know this, and I know that he doesn't know this. Because for the last 500 years + or – Christianity has not taught this truth, and the Jewish Rabbis cannot comprehend it. Notice I did not say refuse to apprehend it, I said cannot comprehend it.
•God has provided a "COHERENT, UNIFIED PLAN OF SALVATION FOR HUMAN AND ANGELIC BEINGS [Eph 1:10;1, Peter 1:12, Eph 3:1-12.
•The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in biblical reality, His name is the Lord Jesus Christ, AKA, the Lord of Glory, the Son of God, the Son of Man, Mary's Baby [Matt 9:6;17:24-27; Luke 10:18-19; John 1:1-3,14; 5:18-24; 8:54; 10:30; 1 Cor 2:8; 2 Cor 5:19; 1 Tim 3:16], Seed of a Woman, a prophet like Moses, Seed of Abraham, Seed of David etc.
•Lastly, in order for the Christian Church to be about God's business, it must learn to distinguish between the Old Testament law of sin and death [Mosaic law of sin and death: Exodus to Malachi] and the New Testament era of God's grace and faith. God's salvation is in the New Testament, period, as it was always meant to be [Genesis 3:22-24; John 3:3-8; 1 Thess 5:9-10; Gal 4:4-6; Titus 1:2-3; 1 Peter 1:18-20].

I think your assertion that our Black Christan [sic] Church community should disband is absurd. Just because the majority of our black churches members adhere to the traditional heterosexual marriage law, is no right to not respect ones religious views. I have no problem with same sex marriages however, both sides are going to have to recognize the rights of each other within the context of the particular state law and to insure peace and harmony.

Making Peace with Judaism and Christianity
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is Jesus, who is part of the Trinity and Who was involved in the creation of the earth. People reject Christ because he made the claim in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, NO ONE comes to the Father except through me." Christianity did come from the Jewish Faith, and the morals of the Old Testament (thou shall not kill, steal, commit adultery, etc.) are backed by the New Testament. And, the Old and New Testaments both speak against homosexuality.
